Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Pain In Pelvis Along With Mild Nausea Be Pre Cancer Symptoms?
25 year old smoker presents with CIN 2, many sexual partners, HPV vaccinated, presenting with pelvic pain and mild nasuea, LEEP is scheduled but not yet preformed, biological sister had precancer at 16, biological father had cancer. Without treatment, what time frames for it to progress into precancer or cervical cancer? best and worse case scenario please.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Not very high percentage of CIN 2 proceed to CIN 3 and carcinoma cervix. A histopathological examination of the LEEP specimen is required to assess the extent of changes in the cervical tissue. Pelvic pain and nausea can be seen in pelvic inflammatory diseases (PID). Having multiple sexual partners and smoking are risk factors for developing cancer of cervix. Thus, multiple sexual partners should be avoided. Protected sex may be practiced if not possible to avoid multiple sexual partners.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
