Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Persistent Pain In Chest Be Due To Heart Burn?
I suffer from heart failure, breathlessand tired. had a bleed on the brain in feb this year. last night I had a pain in my chest. not severe pain. not throbbing.it was just there for about an hour. been ok through the day today.it was at the yop of my chest higher than where I think my heart is could it have been heartburn?
Based on the history you have shared, such pain can be due to heart burn but as you have heart failure already, you should not take such pain easy and should get EKG done. I would recommend you yo get EKG and if its normal then heart failure is ruled out then we can start you on gaviscon and sucralfate syrup. Plus, avoid oily and spicy foods.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
