Could Persistent Vaginal Yeast Infection Cause Fever?

hi,My daughter 8 years old has been suffering from vaginal yeast infection for past 3 days. The doctor has prescribed candid ointment and general hygeine procedure. However the infection is still persistent and she is feeling very sore. Moreover last week she suffered from a bout of viral fever which subsided in 3 days...and immediately relapsed next week and still is having it...along with the vaginal rash. What do u recommend..My pediatrician says that the rash is not causing fever and it could be becuase of viral replapse plus nasal congestion that she is suffering. He has recommended to wait for 3 more days and then start a course of amoxicillin if required,
