Could Polyp In Womb Cause Heavy Blood Flow?

i ad pirod at the beging of the month but on wensday mornig as i got up al of a sudden a gush of blood came out i got up a lot more came out as i tryed to walk a lot more came followed by a realy big clot their was a very lot of blood was rushed to hospital were finally dionosed with a polyp in my womb but never got told way so much blood lost an a huge clot plz help
