Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Pulsation In The Fractured Ankle Be A Matter Of Concern?
I have had a broken ankle for approximately 8 weeks. For the first 5 weeks, I just thought it was a sprain so I have walked on it quite a bit. I now have an air cast on, however it feels like there is a pulsing in my ankle, almost like there is something under my skin moving around. Do you think this is something serious? Thank you
The symptoms seem to be related to a sprained ankle. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the pain. I also suggest to use a splint to maintain the ankle immobilized. Cold compresses for local application can also be helpful.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
