Could Recurring Fever, Cough And Flu Indicate Sign Of Gastroenteritis?

Hi! My daughter is having recurring fevers, cough s and slight flu paired up with nasal bloodshed. Has had several check-ups and no results so far. Today the pediatrician said she probably has gastrointestinitis. Is this accurate? She was prescribed with asthma-like treatment administered through a mask/chamber according to my wife. Two shots in the morning and two late night. Thanks in advance Mike.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter recurring fever, cough and flu yes which is very common in this age group and most of it is caused due to viral infections and it can affect not only intestine but also nose, throat and lungs. Need not to worry at all. I would suggest you to ensure you are giving adequate hydration, oral intake and relenishing water to avoid salt losses. you should give oral rehydration solution. Give combination of antibiotic along with antihistamine medication. Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined. You should go for complete examination and start treatment after that. Intravenous fluid administration is also recommended. Treatment recommended to you by physician is right. Don't panic.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
