Could Red, Splotchy Skin On The Body Of A Child Be Due To Seasonal Allergy?

My son is 8 and last week developed this skin rash that seems to get worse after being outside. It is not itchy, no fever. It is red and splotchy on his chest, back, arms, legs and sometimes his cheeks. No symptoms otherwise. Could it be from seasonal allergies?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the red splotchy rashes can be due to seasonal allergies while they can also be due to allergic reaction to any food or medicine or any skin cosmetic or detergents as well as they can be due to stinging with some poisonous bug/insect etc..
You should consult n Allergist and get evaluated and after a clinical evaluation he can advise him anti allergics like Benadryl, application of steroid ointment over the rashes if there is itching or soreness and do cold compresses over the rashes..
He can also advise you to get his allergic testing done like RAST test, Patch test, food challenge test to rule out the exact cause of allergy and avoiding exposure to the allergen can help..
An Immunotherapy can be given to reduce the severity of the reaction..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
