Could Redness, Itching And Bumps Be A Result Of Bug Bite?

I got a bug bite on my leg at least a month ago. It turned into a large (2") welt & was very itchy. It is still itchy, although the redness is gone. But occasionally it will have bumps pop up & the sting sight is still visible & itchy. What could have bitten me?

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

Insect bite hypersensitivity or papular urticaria are a kind of exaggerated hypersensitivity reactions.

You could use an OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine once daily for a few days for symptomatic itch relief.

A topical steroid + antibiotic cream combination e.g flutibact ointment twice daily would help resolve the lesion.
