Could Rising BP While Standing Be Due To Problem In Kidney?

I have a female friend that has been in the hospital since January with Blood pressure issues. Blood pressure rises upon standing, not dropping. Has been tested for almost everything but no one can quite figure out what the issue is. The Doctors have been changing her Blood pressure meds and not giving them time to work for her. Doctors feel it may be kidney related. Has seen a Pulmonary Doctor, Cardiology,Endocrinology, and Nehrologist. Any ideas on what her problem may be?

Hello,

I should have a look at her lab reports to evaluate what has been tested and found so far. From what you are describing, it seems like an orthostatic hypertension, but we need to get correlations with other pathologies related to aorta, kidney, diabetes or other metabolic disorders.

That's why it is extremely important to evaluate the findings of your lab tests. If nothing has been found so far, then, it is simply due to essential hypertension. However, we should analyze her current age including menopausal hormonal changes. Discuss it further with her caring doctor. Looking forward to get the requested lab reports.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
