Hi
A group of drugs called ACE inhibitors usually prescribed in patients with MI , are associated with symptoms of cough in some patients and in that case these drugs are replaced by another drug . But the drugs (prescription medication) mentioned in your question are usually blamed for the cough.
But the cough in a post MI pt should be taken care of .
Treat with simple cough syrup for now . But if it persists , or is associated with shortness of breath , fever , chest pain , then better to be seen by a doctor to check his BP to listen his chest and heart , to examine his throat
and also possibly to do some blood tests to rule out any infection etc .
Thank you
