Hello,
You had 6 beers, the alcohol content may vary in different beers, you have not specified here which beer you took. However, excessive alcohol intake leads to unpleasant symptoms like headache, malaise, vomiting, production of too much urine, etc. Alcohol is a diuretic and loosing fluid from the body causes
dehydration, sodium-potassium depletion, body ache, headache due to
vasodilation of certain nerves in the brain. Excess alcohol may trigger
blood clots due to platelet activation. You are suggested to take rest and stay well hydrated to maintain the body electrolyte system.
Take water, warm beverage, soup and juice. Take home made nutritious food. Take adequate sleep. Never take beer in excess. It should be taken in amount your body tolerates and stays normal. Since you suspect blood clot, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, your treating doctor may recommend you few routine blood tests,
urinalysis, cardiac function tests, X-ray, CT/CTA, MRI. Blood clots can be life-threatening depending on their location and severity. Treatment will depend on whether the clot is located in an artery or a vein. You will be treated accordingly with medication or catheter-directed
thrombolysis.
Your treating doctor may recommend you surgery or
inferior vena cava (IVC) filter placement to treat your condition. In the meantime, you can include natural blood thinners in your diet like turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne peppers, ginger,
vitamin E in moderate amounts. Never take anything in excess.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
