Could Severe Pain In Knee Be Due To Tendonitis?

i am 21 years old with suspected "nerve damage".during a military training procedure, i fell from an elevated area and landed on my left knee in the kneeling position. the skin was never broken but severe bruising occured and lasted a period of approximately 4 months on the front of my knee below the knee cap (not including the knee cap) size was approx the size of a softball. there are very little symptoms but they are extreme. i am able to do everything physical ei: running, jumping, swimming, etc with NO pain in my joint BUT as soon as physical contact is made with the front of my knee, extreme pain is felt. following the physical contact and initial pain is tingling and in some places down the outside of my shin some numbness. the pain can occur with anything from the bed sheets brushing against my knee too rough to bumping it on the edge of a coffee table or being kicked. it has been just over 2 years since the injury occured and the symptoms have worsened with treatments: Steroid shot, electrostem therapy followed with ice and sometimes heat, physical therapy, accupuncture, and now the most recent, a infrapatellar nerve block. each attempt at relief only grants a few days without pain causing symptoms but 9 out of 10 times, the pain returns worse and more often than not, with more symptoms. symptoms now include aching into the lower part of my thigh above my knee and down into my shin at times while the most severe ache is in my actual knee. i was first diagnosed with patellar tendonitis/tendinopothy in my first few appointments. the diagnosis doesnt seem to fit though... because, before this accident, i never experienced any problems/pain/discomfort with either of my knees even after 4 straight years of year round crosscountry/long distance track. my doctors have still named it patellar tendonitis, but as i research syptoms, my injury doesnt fit any of them. looking for anyone outside of my line of doctors that may have some insight on this issue that may soon lead to medical separation from the Marine Corps.
