Could Shakes And High Fever Be Just A Viral Infection?

Since sunday I have had the shakes, sun a fever of about 102 degrees. I went to the doctor on Monday and they said i did not have the flu or strep. It must be something viral. They said to alternate taking ibuprofen and Tylenol. I am still sweating and haven t yet found out what is wrong with me. Can you help?
