Could Small Pimple With Yellow Centre In Public Region After Having Protected Sex Be Herpes?

Hi there,

The question I have is STD related. I had protected sex about a month ago with a partner I barely knew and not knowing the consequences, I started fearing for STDs, more specifically, herpes. Nothing much has happened since and I remember I shaved my pubic hair just to check for herpes. But there was nothing, until today. I noticed a small pimple - yellow centre - popped up on my pubic region. Should I be worried?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this rash that you found in your pubic area. From the information you have provided, this is very unlikely to be related to herpes infection.It rather fits the description of after shave folliculitis. Also, it would be rare for primary herpes to present with a single lesion. Herpes rash presents with fluid filled cavity(vesicles) and not pus.It give way to a very clean ulcer. This is clearly not what you are describing.
