Could Sore Throat Along With Yellow Spots Be Symptoms Of Viral Pharyngitis?
I was told I have viral pharyngitis from a cab pharmacy clinic, they didn't proactive me nothing,I have sore red throat, with yellow spots, hurts alot now going to my left ear I've taken benadryl for itchy throat,Motrin, chloraseptic for pain, musinex, nothing working
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your query in case if you have viral pharyngitis it is commonly a viral infection and there can be secondary bacterial infection along with viral which seems apparent in your case.. You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and doing rapid strep test and rapid mono test for ruling out the exact cause of the infection can be done so that treatment can be done as per cause.. The physician can advise you to take a course of antibiotics like Azithromycin, continue taking Motrin, do warm saline gargles, sip on warm water throughout the day, do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room.. Avoid spicy, hard and chilled foods and maintain a good oral hygiene..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
