Could Soreness On Affected Part Of Head Be Due To Concussion?

I hit the back of my head on pavement yesterday. I don t feel a bump my the area I hit is extremely sore. I don t have a headache. My vision is fine. I slept last night and got checked every 2hrs. I had some slight nausea yesterday but no vomiting. My real complaint is that my head in the area I hit is sore. You think it s a concussion? Should I be ok?

Hi, I am Dr. Shreyash Mehta, MD Community Medicine.

I understood your query, I hope my answer will solve your query

As you told you were hit on the back of the head on pavement.

You told that you do not have headache and your vision is fine.

You have some nausea and part where you have been hit is sore.

Ultimate diagnosis requires examination.

From the history it is mild concussion with some contusion.

The swelling shall appear later.

You should keep your head in upright position. Take rest

You can take
Cap (Omez 20 mg+ Domperidone 10 mg)-one daily morning for 3 days
tablet with combination of Aceclofenac 100mg+ Paracetamol 500 mg+ Serropeptidase 15 mg. for decreasing local soreness-maximum thrice daily for 3 days

I think you should be okay after a rest of 2 days.

You should contact the doctor if following symptoms appear

inability to wake up (also called a coma)
seizures (fits)
draining of blood or clear fluid from the ears or nose
unequal pupil size (one pupil is larger than the other)
eyes moving abnormally
lasting confusion
slurred speech
repeated vomiting
weak muscles
problems walking
