Could Stopping Thyroid Pills Effect Sex Drive And Mental Health?

had thyroid taken out at 23 yrs old. took thyroid pills when carry them. now,i,m 56, feel like my kid,s even they are grown,don,t think straight. i,m not taking the pills. stpo taking them about 30 yrs. sometimes i woder if it is affecting my thinking, low sex drive,need help. am i crazy,are my kid,s crazy?

Hello,
The symptoms you describe could be due to inappropriate thyroid function.
It is very easy to verify it. You need to do the thyroid hormonal level and if ti within the normal ranges it means that the thyroid functions normally now and it is not the cause of your symptoms. So i would suggest to check:
-TSH,FT4 and FT3 level.
Anyway you should have into consideration that menopause can cause such symptoms.
