Could Sudden Bruise Like Spot Next To Eye Indicate Broken Vein?

All of a sudden I developed a bruise like spot right next to my eye. This has happened within less than 2 hours. It is 3/4 of an inch large and now does not seem to grow any more. What could have caused it? Broken vein?. Should I (Can I) do something to get rid of it other than just waiting and hoping that it disappears?

I really appreciate your concern, sudden onset of such symptom is very less likely, possibility of some blood disorder need to be ruled out but first best option is to wait and watch, this could be infection too, in case of increasing the symptoms better to see the doctor for clinical examination, take care.
