Could Sunburn And Shivering Have Been Caused By Shock?

I had gone out on the creek for about 9.5 hours which ended up in me getting a pretty bad sunburn. About 1.5-2 hours later I went back to my house was laying in bed with cold air blowing on me and started to shiver very rapid and badly for a good while and then my mom came in to put cold Aloe Vera gel on my back to treat the sunburn and the shivering doubled. Could this have been my body going into shock?

Hi,

That's a bit of a stretch. The body has rather a lot of regulatory measures for cold. LACK of shivering would imply they are broken. Shivering is a moderate one not the first adjustment the body makes. The way to tell is to just take a temperature. If it is normal then the regulatory mechanisms are working. The creme, but mainly the disrobing, increases the need for shivering. Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, these are normal mechanisms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
