Could Taking Cortisone Shot Cause Redness And Puffiness Around The Injection Site?

I had a cortisone shot 2 months ago. I was in the sun a lot last week and again today. I have a fairly large area around the injection site that is red and puffy. Is this caused from the cortisone shot? Should I avoid exposure to the sun in that area? It is around my ankle
