Could Tenderness On Head During Pregnancy Be A Matter Of Concern?

I was bending down to pick something up, stood up too fast, and hit my head very hard on storage shelves. I am pregnant. Any chance of concussion if I m not having headaches, dizziness, or pupil dilation? The only symptom I have is tenderness to the touch where I hit my head. This happened 24 hours ago.

Hello,

I can understand your concern..
The chances of concussion is extremely rare in your case, so no need to worry at all. Chances of concussions are high if there is any Vomiting, Intense Headache, Fainting spells or any bleeding for Ear, Nose or Mouth within 24 hrs of injury. U can rest assured as you are not having any such symptoms. Regarding tenderness at the area of injury, it is a common symptoms and no treatment is required as such. If the tenderness or pain is intense then you can take a simple Paracetamol 500mg once which is safe in pregnancy.

Hope i have answered your concerns.
Feel free to ask if any other queries..
