Could The Constant Headaches Indicate Symptoms Of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy?

Hi, I've had an almost constant headache for the last five years. On a 1-10 pain scale it's usually a 3 or 4 but will quickly climb to a 10 and stay that high for a week or more when dealing with emotional stress or excitement, it also hits a 10 if I'm outside in summer heat above 80 degrees. I also suffer from cluster headaches but this headache feels like a simple tension headache. I've suffered 6 concussions before the age of 18 and 2 since then, I'm now 49 years old.. I'm worried that it may be chronic traumatic encephalopathy..

hi
welcome to our site

read your query
that is a very significant question
and i appreciate your problem

i will try my best to answer your query

i would have suggested you tell me exactly what the symptom is
and not what you feel the diagnosis is
tell me the character of pain
not tension type headache

and what trauma have you had
to think of traumatic encephalopathy

a long standing headache could simple be a migraine
in fact photophobia you described is a feature of migraine

and quickly rising and settling pain
could be both cluster headaches and migraines

i also think one should rule out space occupying lesions
and therefore i suggest an mri of brain
with contrast if needed

i hope this helps you
inform the reports mentioned above (if any)
so i can be of help further
best of luck

(please do understand that some problem remains as
online texting cuts down history and examination
thereby reducing the effect and efficiency
and increases reliance on tests)
