Could The Expired Ventolin Have Causes Discomfort In My Lips And Throat?

Hi I am asthmatic and I take preventative inhailers. The last few days I have noticed round my lips and down my throat feels furry. I am gussing this is thrush. I have just noticed I have been using out of date ventolin!! Would this be the cause? And what should I do?
