Could The Hives, Swelling, And Burning Headache Experienced After Applying Palmer S Cocoa Butter Lotion Be Related To An Allergy?

Hi, after applying palmers coco butter lotion my grand daughter had what appeared as hives , swelling to the area applied, hands only. She reported a headache as burning she s 6 and hasn t experienced a headache before. I looked at her hands and noted the above; which all occurred less then 5 minutes after application. Are there foods I should avoid containing coco? I can t ask her mother, father, as they are no longer in her life.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

She could be allergic to cocoa butter. Flushing, swelling, headaches and rashes are common symptoms of allergic reactions. It is better to avoid them until proven safe. She can get an allergy test done to figure out the allergens and establish the same.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
