Could The Itching On The Scalp Be Due To Hormonal Imbalance From Testosterone Replacement Therapy?

Hello- I have been taking testosterone replacement therapy and have noticed an itchy scalp during the day. I have went to my doctor and dermatologists to find out solutions, but nothing has worked. I have even tried a variety of shampoo still no solutions. Can you please tell me if I have another imbalance that might be causing this irritation. Thank you Jimmy W

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Itchiness in scalp could be due to dandruff and dryness. I suggest you to take treatment for dandruff. If there is no evidence of dandruff then itchiness could be due to primary skin disease causing flakiness and dryness.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
