Could The Life Expectancy In A Nasopharyngeal Cancers Be Only Five Years?

Hi! i read this statistic online. Of all those people diagnosed with stage 3 nasopharyngeal cancers, 6 out of every 10 will live for at least 5 years. (It may make more sense to think of it as 60 out of every 100, which is the same thing.) Does this mean the patient will not be able to live after 5 years?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
It has 60% five year survival rate. It means 60 patients out of 100 will have life expectancy of % year or more. Some person can live 10 year or some person can live 5 year. It is overall rate. There are other factors like patients general condition, grade of cancer, treatment options and many other factors affect the life expectancy.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have any doubts then contact me at bit.ly/Drsanghvihardik, I will be happy to answer you.
