my daughter is 17 years she got the depo shot just about mid cycle doc told her it was effective immediatly she told me her boy friend ejaculated in her same day shes been running low grade fever just about every day and ovary pain as well also nausea home preg test never worked on myself as ive had 2 children and they were always negative should i be concerned that she may be pregnant or is the shot making her sick home pg test also neg

Birth control with Depo-Provera begins immediately after the first shot if given within the first five days of your menstrual period. As your daughter has received in mid cycle, may not provide protection in this cycle. Pregnancy can't be ruled out, wait till her due date, if it get delayed conduct pregnancy test.The best time to conduct this test would be 2 weeks after last sexual contact or on the first or second day of a missed period. Please use an early morning urine sample for this test, this will be most accurate. It is also recommended to repeat this test 2-3 times to confirm a result. blood HCG test more sensitive to detect pregnancy.
For low grade fever need to get examined by doctor for diagnosis.
