Could The Lump In Armpit Be Related To Minimal PTB?
Hi,, I am Janine 27 years old I have lumps in armpit,,, and I just failed on medical When I tried to apply abroad coz of minimal PTB undetermined result on my medical, is the lumps under my armpit related to the minimal PTB? 2007 wen I diagnosed bout cavitary lungs disease and I treated for a sex months taking medicine,, how come I have this Minimal PTB now? Do I have to take a medicine for six months again?
PTB (Pulmonary TB) will not cause nodes in armpit; rather it causes enlarged nodes in chest as seen in X-ray. Nodes in armpit can be enlarged as part of other forms of TB (extra pulmonary TB). The chance of this depends on your symptoms (recurrent fever, weight loss, anorexia), the size and consistency of nodes and reports of tests like blood count, ESR and sometimes FNAC test of the nodes. If such symptoms are not there, chance of having active TB is low now. Your doctor will discuss in details.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
