Could The Micro Calcifications Be Caused Due To Breast Trauma?
I recently had a biopsy (negative), and now have to have another, as there are still microcalcifications present. The first time, the doctor made an incision. This time, I would prefer a needle biopsy. Is this possible? Also, I went to a breast specialist in the first place because I had a hiking accident that caused massive bruising of the breast. Could the microcalcifications have been caused by the breast trauma?
Hello. Unfortunately a needle biopsy would not cover all the area of microcalcifications--that requires another biopsy. And trauma to the breast does not cause microcalcifications.
