Could The Night Sweats Be Part Of A High Metabolism?

Hi. I m 18 years old and a girl, and I have gotten off my sleep cycle because of night sweats. I live in an area where it s commonly humid and hot, so I would expect it, but even a fan doesn t cool me down. Diabetes runs in my family, but I am pretty underweight. Could the night sweats be part of a high metabolism?

hi,
thank you for posting on HCM.
as per your history, you have nocturnal hyperhidrosis.
-- since diabetes runs in your family, hypoglycemia could be a cause of night sweats.. but diabetes at a very young age is rare.
-- it could also be due to high metabolism due to hyperthyrodism, also infections like tuberculosis can be a cause.
-- I would suggest you to consult a physician For the same, so that you can be evaluated accordingly.
my treatment advise would be:
1. use fans for air circulation.
2. use moisture soaking pajamas.avoid synthetic clothes like nylon.
3. avoid hot drinks, caffeinated drinks,
acidic foods like pickle, citrus fruits. , spicy food.
4. deodorants may help in reducing sweating.
5. other options may be iontophoresis but that can be thought of, only after evaluation.
consult a physician nearby.
wishing you good health.
thank you
