Could The Pain In Hip Be Due To Flu?

My husband is a 30 year old man who just had the flu for the first time in 10 years. Needless to say, it hit him pretty hard. He has been without a fever for a couple of days now, but all of a sudden has pain in his right hip. It is really bothering him...could this be caused by the flu? It just seems like such a coincidence that it would happen directly after he was so sick.
