Could The Pain In The Knee Be Due To The Screw Inserted During Surgery?

hi..doctor my question is about my husband..actually he had a femur fracture about 12 years back and had a surgery with screw..now he start feeling pain in knee more whine bending and standing up..is the cause of pain is screw??if yes what is the treatment? thanks
