Could The Recurring Oral Thrush And Crumbling Lips Be Due To Hepatitis C?
On dec 19 i injected drugs using clean needles but a dirty filter. After 2 months i had extreme fatigue was itching (still am now) had headache etc... I have been tested for hiv at 10.5 weeks, 14.5 weeks and 4.5 months. I was also tested for hep c and syphillis at these times. I have also had recurring oral thrush, runny nose and crumbling lips. I feel so run down and depressed, do i need to retest for hiv/hep c? I am already immunised to hep a&b, and have tested neg for mono. This was the first time i had injected in 4 years, and prior to this i was in good health and going to college. Now i feel too sick to do anything whats up with me? Regards. worried in England
No your condition is due to fungal infection of mouth..which is common after HIV status. Start tablet glucose 150 mg once daily for 2 weeks, Betadine gargle, Zytee lotion for local application over lips. Review with blood tests, CBC and LFT.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
