Could The Tender, Bump-like Sensations On My Vagina And Outer Buttocks With Slight Itch And Burn Be An Infection?

Hello, So since Sunday night while bathing and washing my buttocks I realised that there was this strange feeling on right of the outer part as if a bump was about to appear. By Monday morning it did feel as if there was a bump there however it did not bring about much discomfort nor pain but it tender at times. In the evening while bathing again, I felt the same feeling for the lips of my vagina and from yesterday it has gotten worse as I feel like something is wrong because as much as both areas do not feel all that uncomfortable nor do they hurt a lot, but there is some discomfort and a slight (very minimal) itch and burn. I have not personally checked to see any bumps but it feels like bumps are on my vagina and one on the outer part of my buttocks and as I said, there is this tender feeling. I do hope this is something that can be diagnosed and OTC medication can be bought for it if needs be. Just to note: I am a virgin however I have had oral sex before and the male s genitalia placed on me but that has been over a month if not more.

Hello,

Your symptoms could indicate an infection, even without vaginal intercourse, as you did have oral sex with male genitalia placed on you. Tender bumps are suggestive of genital herpes (HSV-1 or HSV-2); you can get infected due to oral sex, even if the partner had no visible sores. First outbreaks can appear 2–12 days after exposure. HSV-1 is increasingly common genitally due to oral sex.

Other possible STDs that can infect you are molluscum contagiosum, which appear like painless bumps, and HPV, which causes warts, often not itchy or burning. Syphilis is usually a painless sore, less likely in virgins, but you had oral-only exposure, but it is still possible. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist or dermatologist as you are unsure what the bumps look like. They can do a visual exam, swabs, or blood tests.

You will be told to get done STD tests also. Get them done; you will be treated accordingly with antivirals and antibiotics. Avoid self-treatment with creams until diagnosed, as some creams may worsen irritation. Avoid shaving or irritating the area.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
