Could There Be Any Problems Associated With Re-implantation Of Tooth?

I am 22. My tooth came out 5 years ago and it was successfully reimplanted. Previously I would get a tooth abscess on the gum but now the abscesses are less frequent and smaller. There is no pain now and I have not had a root canal. The tooth is also not discolored.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your query abscess after re-implantation of tooth may occur due to either infection which has occurred during the trauma or the accident due to which the tooth has come out or it may also be due to improper maintenance of asepsis during re-implantation procedure.

It may also be due to necrosis of the pulp( the central portion of the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels) which leads to formation of pus below the root tips of the re-implanted tooth and the condition is called "PERIAPICAL ABSCESS".

I would suggest you to visit your dentist and get evaluated by getting an IOPAR( x-ray ) done to find out the exact cause of abscess formation..

If there is pulp necrosis or infection causing pus formation then ROOT CANAL TREATMENT followed by antibiotics and painkiller has to be done even if there is no pain and discolouration of tooth.

Exact treatment protocol can be decided only after clinical examination and x rays.

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
