Could Thigh And Back Neuropathy Be Due To Diabetes Or Fibromyalgia?

I am Type II diabetic and also have fibromyalgia. How can I tell whether my neuropathy is associated with my diabetes or my fibromyalgia? I have trouble getting up from seated positions and my thighs and back hurt most of the time. I am currently having a disjointed feeling in one of my fingers.

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Peripheral neuropathy is usually a manifestation of diabetes. The burning pain, loss of sensation etc start in the periphery.
2. These symptoms appear to be more related to fibromyalgia.
3. Meet a neurologist for confirmation. Control the blood sugar level within normal range to avoid any further damage. Fibromyalgia can be controlled with medication.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
