Could Vomiting And Gastritis Be Due To Intake Of Duphaston During Pregnancy?

Hi Doctor,

I am in 9th week of my pregnancy (now 33 years, this is my second pregnancy, first baby is 6.5years now) and doctor has advised to use duphaston to support my pregnancy, I am having continuous vomiting problem, gastrities, a sort total discomfort insdie stomach etc now and almost bed ridden even stopped attending since last two weeks. Somebody was telling vomitting problem is due to duphaston. Can you please advise how to over come this problem, I can not miss my office for long time also.

I can understand your concerns.
Duphaston is dydrogesterone, a synthetic progesterone.
It commonly causes nausea, vomiting, gastritis and disturbed appetite.

You should consult your gynecologist for dose or timing adjustment of drug.

Take the drug after meals.
You can take it in divided doses as well.
