Cut On Face. Have A Laser Treatment. What Is The Lump?

I received a cut to the face after being punch the damage was cause by a ring I need 6 stitches to the side of chin just below lip. It has been 16 days since the injury and now a hard large lump has formed under the cut it seems to be healing well however it is still sore to touch and I get a sharp pain and ache from time to time. I am worried may form a keliod scar! My doctor said to leave it 2 more weeks and if it does not soften he will refer me to a dermatologist . I have also thought about having laser treatment as I know I cannot leave with an awful scar. Please help me on the best way to treat the scar and this lump that had formed. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that there might be having infection took place giving rise to induration and swelling.
Go for one antibiotic medicine course.
Go for regular dressing with proper cleaning preferably done by a doctor.
I do not think there might be scar formation.
Ok and take care.
