Cyst Burst, Leaked White Stuff With Foul Smell, Bleeding, Area Swollen. Check Up Required?

my husbands cyst burst last nite, we were having it lanced today at the Drs, it leaked a lot of foul smelling green and whitish stuff, and the smell was horrible, then it bleed and was still bleeding when he went back to sleep, his whole arm pit was red and the cyst area was swollen out in the shape of a 1 inch wide by 4 inch long earth worm in the fold of the arm..should he still see his Dr since we do not need it relived now, he was in terrible pain, now it burst not so bad???

hi..Thanks for your query

Ideally after the bursting/ drainage of the cysts an oral antibiotic should be started.
You should also do a dressing with with a topical antibiotic cream like mupirocin or fusidic acid to prevent any superimposed infection.
Pain /swelling may be controlled by oral anti inflammatory agents like Ibuprofen.
The presence of foul smelling discharge may be an indicator of an infected cyst.So i think you should consult a dermatologist for the needful.
