Dark Skin Around Mouth, Eyes, Knuckles And Knees. Treatment?
Hi I am a 22 year old Indian and since my early childhood I have darker skin around mouth and eyes even my knuckles and knees are darker but I am distressed about the condition of my skin around mouth which includes upper lip area area around nose and chin . please help me by telling if there is a way to correct this skin complexion because i have wasted hundreds of pounds on creams and other stuff and no doctor has given a definite answer that what the problem is and why it is and if it is treatable?
from your description, it seems that you may be having addison's disease. i would recommend that you meet up with your physician and request him to evaluate your condition for addison's disease.
in case you have addison's disease, application of any number of creams would not help.
hence its important to first find out the cause of this pigmentation.
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Hyperpigmentation in the specific skin areas can be treated by dermabrasion and laser treatment. Your dermatologist can guide you regarding the treatment options available according to the extent of pigmentation. You can avoid aggravating your problem by avoiding the sun exposure at all costs.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
