Dark Spot On Toe Nail, Does Not Hurt. Is This A Bruise Or A Fungus?
Just noticed a dark spot, like a bruise, on my big toe toe nail. I did have that toe stepped on 2 weeks ago, but did not notice any discoloration due to nail polish. The coloration is on the root of the toe nail, and is uncomfortable if applied pressure to. Otherwise, it does not hurt. Is this a bruise or a fungus??

Hello and welcome to HCM,
That does sound like a bruise to me, since you also got stepped on. Fungal infection (onychomycosis) would be a little ill defined diffuse spot.
Observe for some days, if it is a bruise it'll resolve. If it doesnt see a dermatologist, get a nail clipping test and oral antifungals prescribed.
