Decided To Give Up Liquor. After Few Day Sever Headache. Had Dental Implants. Took Antibiotics. No Relief From Headache. Suggestions?

I have had a bad headache for about 5 days but no fever, cold , cough. First 2 days had aching joints but no longer. I had 2 days earlier had a dental implant but no complications--no pain, no bleeding and was on anti-biotics as a precaution. However, I had been under a lot of stress for a few days during this time plus I decided to give up drinking (4 days before the headaches started) since I was concerned over my close to alcohol abuse. What a mess! Sorry to give so many issues all at once

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. If you were drinking alcohol on a daily basis and stopped all at once, you might be having withdrawal headaches. I also believe that you might be having headaches due to having had the dental procedure, as headache after such procedures is quite common. I also believe that stress can be a contributing factor. Nevertheless, treatment for headaches is the treatment for all of the above, plus symptomatically with analgesics, which are available over the counter like Aleeve, Motrin, etc. If they do not help, please consult a qualified doctor to help answer your questions and get you on the path to recovery.
