Delayed Period, Headaches And Vomiting. Taking Duoluton L. What Is The Cause?

Hi,

My age ios 28,i have been getting my periods 1 Week gaps for last 2 Months , i Visted Nearby Gynocologist and she adviced me to take Duoluton L ,But after taking it i got Severe Head Ach and Vomitting ..i stopped using it from next day...once it is Stopped My stomach was normal..Can you Tell me what Causes this?

Hi,

Duoluton L is a drug containing Ethinyl Estradiol, prescribed for many purposes, including the menstrual irregularities.

Usually, I do not recommend such drugs (contraceptives) to my patients with complains as yours as first line of treatment.

I usually ask them and find out the cause of such irregularities including:

- are you trying to get pregnant?

- are you having a tough time (hard working, stressful)

- have you changed anything in your diet (more calories)?

Hormonal changes are common for female body which is reported as menstrual irregularities.

With regards to headache and vomiting you were experiencing, I would add that they are often related to the use of such drugs.
