Delayed Periods. Pregnancy Test Negative. Prescribed Primolut Nor. If Pregnant, Is This Medicine Harmful To The Baby?

Hi i am 25 years old newly married 5 month ago i have delay in my period for 10 days i did bhcg test but the result was negative my dr prescribed primolut nor three times a day for 7 days. I want to ask if this is a right medication and if there is a chance to be pregnant and if there is . Is primolut nor harmful thanks a lot

Hello Good Evening,

First of all, you should have confirmed that you are not pregnant, for that you should go a repeat pregnancy test followed by a ultrasonography, may be needed trans vaginal.

Primolut Nor. tablets contain the active ingredient norethisterone, which is a synthetic hormone similar to the naturally occurring sex hormone,progesterone. It is used in a wide range of menstrual disorder and it is not to be used in known or suspected pregnancy.

So first of all reconfirm about your pregnancy, and have declared as menstrual disorder, then only go for Primolut Nor.
