Delayed Periods. Urine Test Negative However Doctor Denied Blood Test. How To Determine Pregnancy?

Today I went to a women's health clinic as I'm on cycle day 50 and 16-18 days late. The urine test came back negative and the doctor refused to send me for a blood test telling me that blood tests aren't as accurate as the urine test. She kept saying about my irregular periods and that I didn't ovulate that's why a period didn't come. However, I've only ever been 10 days late before and have never completely missed a period. My husband and I have been trying now for over a year. What's your best advice as to what to do next? I feel like I am pregnant and have never been this late before.

There are several reason of missed period like PCOD or ovarian cyst, hormonal imbalance, stress, over weight, pelvic infection, thyroid problem.

Here, you need to undergo one USG scan and hormone test under the guidance of your gynecologist to pinpoint the diagnosis.

Next thing, you have to do unprotected sex close to your ovulation day (14 days prior to period date) or fertile days to maximize the chance of pregnancy. You can use ovulation prediction kit to track down your ovulation time.

In addition, you would take Vitamin E & Folic acid supplements for 3 months, take healthy diet, control body wt and avoid stress. Good luck.
