Depression After Getting Depo Shot. Side Effect?
Long story short, my girlfriend got the depo shot in January. Mid March she changed completely. She feel into a deep depression and wanted to be alone all the time. She broke up with me last night because she said she feels like a relationship is the last thing she needs. She knows the shot messed her up and did not get it again. I can't convince her to see a Dr. Could the depo be the cause of all this?

depot is a form of injectable drug which lasts in a body for a long time. There are many different medications which are given in the depot like antispychotics, cardiac drugs, painkillers, and OCPs ect. I suppose what you are talking of depot, its the OCP thing as you have not stated anything. OCP given in a depot formulation have various hormones like progesterone and that can lead to a depression. It necessary for her to see a doc who can treat her depression with the routine therapies.
