Developed Black Watery Foul Smelling Diarrhea.Is It Swine Flu Complication ?

hi, my family, there are seven of us, have suffered swine flu over the last 10 days, this has been to varying degrees of severity, however my partner who is generally physically fit and my son who has diabetes type 1 have been very poorly, today both of them have developed black watery foul smelling diahorrea, is this a normal complication? I am worried, this has been a scary virus. Thanks Sheila.

Keep your doctors posted about this development.there is no need to scare from virus infection as such,thousands had this infection even without knowing it.As far for your son who is you say is type-1 diabetic needs to be proper taken care of.In case of viral infection any,body defense becomes weak so one can have problems like diarrhea.But if they are very frequent your son might need continuous observation and iv fluids.His diabetes control may worsen because of all this,so take care,but not worry.Same with your partner,all of you should be taking anti viral drugs in prescribed dosages.
