Diabetic. What Is The Significance Of Elevated WBC?

I was told today that my WBC has been elevated for the past year. None of the other doctors or CRNP s have mentioned this before. The CRNP today would not say anything just that she would repeat the lab work. I am a diabetic. What is the significance of elevated WBC?

hi
the answer to your question depends on how raised the wbc count is

you see wbc are the cells that fight any infection in the body
and a diabetic can develop infections easily
so most like you are having an ongoing infection

most common infection in diabetic is usually uti
so check for that

if it is too high
it means there is spurious production of wbcs
and that points towards leukamias

i cant help you much as you have not mentioned the actual level of wbc count

best of luck
