Diabetic And Blood Pressure. Can You Suggest Me A Proper Diet?
Hi Dr, I am M 29 years old, 5'9 height with 74 kg weight. During my last test it was told that I have high level of cholestrol (231), and 155 diabetes (1 hour after food) and BP rating was varying between 145 and 165 :( Can you please advice on the diet chart I should follow and I hope its not late for me to get back to the ideal rhythm?
No, it is not late to get back to the ideal (or at least average) rhythm.
But, first, I want you to keep in mind that oscillations in blood sugar can cause oscillation in your blood pressure. Once you get them optimized, your BP will be optimized too.
- exercise at least 30 min per day (walking, jogging, to moderate exercise)
- avoid alcohol, smoking
- I usually recommend my diabetic patients to use herbs (tea, pills) that can lower blood sugar (containing cinnamon, banaba, fenugreek, gymnema sylvestre, garlic, etc.)
Hope it helped!

Hi, No, it is not late to get back to the ideal (or at least average) rhythm. But, first, I want you to keep in mind that oscillations in blood sugar can cause oscillation in your blood pressure. Once you get them optimized, your BP will be optimized too. Generally, patients like you are advised to - eat fresh and healthy foods (greens, beans, whole grains, etc.) - drink more water - avoid processed, fatty, sugary foods - exercise at least 30 min per day (walking, jogging, to moderate exercise) - avoid alcohol, smoking - I usually recommend my diabetic patients to use herbs (tea, pills) that can lower blood sugar (containing cinnamon, banaba, fenugreek, gymnema sylvestre, garlic, etc.) Hope it helped!
