Diabetic, Had Undrgone Vitreoctomy For Detached Retina, Had IOL Implantaion Due To A Damaged Lens. What Should I Do Next?
Hi I am 48 year old and diabetic for last 5 years. I had undrgone vitreoctomy for detached retina last year and after six months of surgery had IOL implantaion due to a damaged lens . Still my vision is close to 6/36 only and now the Doctors are suggesting YAG laser to improve vision. Request you considered opinion on this matter.
Bad vision is due to retinal detachment. Diabetes also worsens the vision by causing Diabetic retinopathy. YAG laser will coagulate the hemorrhagic spots in the retina and help improve the vision. maintaining tight control of blood sugar will be important in the management of diabetic retinopathy.
